The design of Hirono Floating Market is deeply rooted in Thailand’s distinct regional character and everyday textures. Its core inspiration comes from the iconic floating market—where goods gather on the water, and customers navigate between overhanging eaves and tiered stalls in small boats. This distinctive commercial form shapes the soul of the spatial narrative. At the same time, the design draws on the seemingly ordinary yet vibrant details found on the streets of Bangkok: crisscrossing wires and conduits, weathered ceramic insulators, eclectic utility meter boxes, and mailboxes layered with house numbers and labels. These elements, which form the true backdrop of life in Bangkok, are distilled and translated into the space, becoming essential components of its design language.
