Echoes of Innocence

Luna Eunsol Kang is a Seoul-born fashion designer raised between South Korea and the United States, whose work fuses Eastern sensibility with Western structure to create refined, highly crafted garments. She earned a BFA in Fashion Design from Academy of Art University in San Francisco and an MFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. Over a decade of study and practice in the U.S.—following her formative years in Korea—has shaped her global perspective and commitment to disciplined craft.

Luna’s technical strengths lie in pattern making, precision sewing, and meticulous hand beading. Comfortable across scales of production, she moves fluently between ready-to-wear and avant‑garde haute couture, always grounding conceptual ideas in wearable, expertly constructed pieces. Her design approach emphasizes material honesty, silhouette refinement, and the hand-crafted detailing that elevates everyday garments into thoughtful objets d’art.

Recognition for her emerging work includes selection as a 2023 finalist in the ArtsThread Global Design Graduate Competition and honors from the 2023 CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase (FFGS). In 2025 she presented her graduate thesis collection at New York Fashion Week.

Luna uses clothing to express her personal philosophy and values, often reinterpreting personal memories and traditional craft or garment techniques into contemporary forms. Since completing her MFA, she has been based in New York as an independent designer, building a sustainable, identity‑driven studio and developing her professional practice.
