Hidealoo introduces a unique toilet innovation within bathroom fittings, transforming a static, dominant fixture that is used for a fraction of every day into a dynamic, concealable product. It offers an innovative solution to optimising space and creating more flexible environments.
Hidealoo is a precision-designed steel mechanism that works with any standard wall hung ceramic toilet pan and cistern. It allows the pan to rotate through 90 degrees so it can be hidden within a cabinet or cavity space. Rather than simply reducing footprint, Hidealoo enables space to be adaptable. Areas typically dedicated to a permanently exposed toilet can instead serve multiple functions, with the toilet available only when required.
Beyond spatial optimisation, Hidealoo responds to significant societal shifts: the expansion of at-home care, ageing-in-place strategies, and the growth of multi-generational living. By enabling discreet and easily accessible toilet facilities within bedrooms or secondary spaces, it supports greater independence, dignity, and long-term adaptability without requiring a full bathroom installation.
The result of years of development, prototyping and testing, the frame was officially launched in January 2023. It has been engineered to be incredibly robust and has been certified by NSF, the US based multinational standards and certification specialist, to show it complies with US, EU and UK standards requirements.
The idea behind its design was driven by necessity, with its inventor, Monty Ravenscroft, needing something for his invalid father that would provide the convenience of a bathroom facility in his bedroom. Monty is an architectural engineer, designing moving elements in buildings. He took this expertise to create a discreet solution and an alternative to a commode or bedpan.
By combining a unique mechanical approach with real-world needs, Hidealoo transforms a static necessity into an adaptable system that aligns with evolving building designs and the changing ways people live, care, and use space.
